A COMPETITION BAGPIPE BAND SOUTH OF BOSTON

Two of the main components of operating a bagpipe band are the instruments (and their accessories) and uniforms. Established bands that already have the uniforms and instruments they need to perform in public make the money they need to maintain their equipment via parades, awards from competing and other performances. At some point we hope to be able to do the same.

In order to perform in public though, we anticipate the need to run occasionally fundraisers to purchase the items we will need to perform in public. Tradition is that bagpipers supply their own instruments, alleviating what could have been a very big cost for us! Also, we were very fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase a set of six previously used snare (side) drums as we were first forming, alleviating another large expense! Although these two important items are not an issue, the following is a partial list of items we will still need to purchase prior to performing in public:

Uniforms including:
kilts
shoes
hose
sporrans
shirts
vests
glengarrys (caps)
cap badges

Instruments & Accessories:
tenor drums
bass drum
drum harnesses

Please occasionally check this space for more information about our fundraisers.
Thank You!
